What is 3D Rendering?
Rendering is the still image version of 3D: hero shots, every colorway, exploded views, packaging mockups, turntables. Built from CAD, a sculpt or drawings, which means you can have retail-ready imagery months before the first unit is manufactured. Once the model exists, a new angle or a new variant costs very little, which is why rendering usually works out cheaper than photography for any product line with options.
3D Rendering is one of the disciplines under Rich Media.
Who needs 3D Rendering?
You need images before production. Preorders, retail listings, buyer meetings, a campaign page, a catalog deadline that arrives before your samples do. Or the product exists and shooting every colorway would mean forty separate photoshoots. If you have one finished product and no variants, photography is usually the better spend and we will tell you that.
